For: Macular Degeneration Foundation
Objective: Measure the growth in awareness and understanding of Macular Degeneration over time as a KPI of communications programmes to raise awareness of the leading cause of blindness among those aged over 50 years.
How: A national tracking study on the Galaxy Telephone Omnibus to ensure a proper representation of all Australians.
Outcome: Over five years the awareness and understanding of Macular Degeneration as an eye disease has more than doubled, leading to the overall campaign being judged global gold standard. In September 2012 the case was published in the American Journal of Public Health.
